Your guest is standing in front of the washing machine, unsure which programme to choose. Or there are two remotes and they don’t know which one switches on the TV. The manual in the drawer has the answer, but searching through forty pages isn’t an easy start to their stay.
Prepare a short explanation for each appliance: where to find it, which controls to use and how to tell it has started. Below is an instruction sheet and two messages to adapt. You can then make those details available in your digital guest guide and Rentevo assistant replies.
Try the sequence you’ll describe to guests on the actual model in the property. Use the words or symbols shown on its controls. “Press Start/Pause” helps if that button exists; “press the button on the right” can become ambiguous as soon as you replace the appliance.
Start with the everyday task your guest wants to do. For a dishwasher, that might mean where to find the right detergent, which programme you use and how to start it. Keep less common functions in the manufacturer’s manual, linked from the same instruction sheet.
Airbnb recommends including practical appliance and amenity instructions in a house manual. For your property, the useful work is turning the actual controls into a sequence someone who has just arrived can follow.
Use the same structure for the washing machine, dishwasher, coffee maker, TV and climate controls. The steps change, but the information stays in a familiar order. A clear photo helps guests recognise a control; a short video can show a sequence that is difficult to describe.
These are demonstration templates to complete with steps you have checked at your property. Keep the labels guests can see on the controls when translating, and explain what they mean so the right button is easy to recognise.
